If you have a question that is not addressed here, please send an email to info@APinchBakery.com

  • I see you are a home based bakery, are you licensed and do you have insurance?

Yes, A Pinch Bakery operates as a Georgia Cottage Foods Baker, which means that our baked goods are made in a home kitchen. Both of our homes have been inspected and licensed by the state of Georgia. We are also fully insured. A copy of our licenses and insurance can be made available upon request.

  •  How much are your cakes?

Since our cakes are custom made for each individual clients needs, the final price varies from cake to cake.

Pricing depends on the size, number of tiers, and complexity of design. The use of fondant, accent pieces, internal support structures, and the time involved all will affect the price.

We are happy to try to work within your event budget and encourage you to contact us so that we can discuss your cake in greater detail.

  •  Do you require a retainer and what forms of payment do you accept?

Yes, we require a retainer to equal 50% of your final cost. While retainers are non refundable, they are transferable. Please see our cancellation policy below.

We accept Cash, Credit/Debit Card, Company Checks, PayPal, CashApp, and Apple Pay.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 14 calendar days of scheduled pick up or delivery date, will receive a refund of all money paid, minus the deposit. The deposit will be held as a credit and can be used towards a future purchase. The credit will expire 13 months from the original date. Cancellations within 13 calendar days (or less) of scheduled delivery/ pick up date will forfeit deposit and any money paid towards balance.

  •  Do you deliver? Do you offer setup as well?

Yes. In fact, many times delivery is recommended for tiered or sculpted cakes to ensure your cake arrives at your venue safely. Delivery is $45 and delivery w/ setup is $60 - both within a 25 mile radius of our location. Each additional mile is $1. All cake orders of $350 or more include free delivery within a 25 mile radius, each additional mile is $1.

  •  Can I pick up the cake myself?

We recommend delivery on any large, 3D cake, or tiered cakes. However, if you choose to pick up your cake, please keep the following in mind:

Any time you pick up a cake, it is always a good idea to have a large flat area in your vehicle dedicated for transporting the cake.  Putting cakes on people’s laps, in the trunk, or on the seat of your car is Never recommended. The floor of your car is often the best place for putting a cake. For full sheet or tiered cakes, you should make arrangements to pick up your cake in an SUV or van that has a large flat open trunk. Drive slowly, and keep your car COLD. Speeding, going over bumps, fast turns, slamming on the brakes, keeping it in the car either for storage or while running other errands can cause damage to the icing or the internal support integrity. If you or your representative elect to pick up your cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves A Pinch Bakery’s possession.

  •  How far in advance do I need to order?

At least two weeks notice is preferred, but as much advanced notice as possible, please! With less notice we attempt to work in orders as our schedule/work load permits, but we can not always fit in last minute requests. Orders placed less than 7 days in advance are subject to a $75 rush fee.

You can check our calendar for current availability. Please keep in mind that while we try to update the calendar weekly, availability changes daily. If your date is approaching soon, its best to contact us for the most up to date information.

  •  Do you provide tastings for non wedding cake orders?

The short answer is no. The long answer - We bake everything fresh to order, meaning we do not keep items in a freezer or in a display case, therefore there aren't any "samples" around for tasting. If you would like to try a flavor before placing a large order, we would recommend you place an order for cupcakes. However, we do offer a cupcake tasting boxes in the flavors we will be baking that week, they are $10 for  6 count, $20 for a 12 count and available for pick up, by appointment only, Saturday or Sunday. If you want to try any other flavor, we sell those, 1 flavor per dozen, at a discounted rate of $30 per dozen.

  • Do you have decorative cake stands and cupcake towers for rent?

Yes, we have a collection of them available to rent. A $50 refundable security deposit is required for use of them. Once the item is returned clean and undamaged by the specified date and time, $25 of the deposit will be returned  to the customer in the form it was paid. Coordinating ribbon, paper, or other trim may be attached to the boards using a temporary adhesive. Please do NOT use tacks, staples, liquid or hot glues.

  •  Do you use fondant and or gumpaste; and what are they?

Yes. Fondant and gumpaste are sweet rolled icing reminiscent of Play-doh in texture. Fondant is used to cover cakes as its versatile and can be manipulated in to various textures and finishes. We also use it frequently for accent or detailed decorations on buttercream cakes, such as zebra stripes and animal figures. All of our cakes have a coating of delicious buttercream icing underneath the fondant.  We use gumpaste, less often, and strictly for decorations, such as sugar flowers and 3D figures. While it is still safe to digest, we wouldn’t recommend eating it, as it will be rather hard and small pieces may be a choking hazard for young children.

  •  My event will be outdoors, cake and treat recommendations?

Outdoor settings are unpredictable. While A Pinch Bakery will do everything in its power to minimize weather damage, cake and sugar will melt in temperatures above 72 degrees and in high humidity. Some common damage in outdoor sites: sweating, water condensation, running of colors, sliding decorations, bug attractant, melting buttercream, chocolate or candy coating. We recommend getting the table ready but keeping the cake and/or treats inside in a cool area until right before your reception. If that is not an option, please have a sturdy cake table located on firm flat ground, in a shaded area, preferably under a tent or canopy. Please remember even placing a cake under a tent will not keep rain from being blown onto the sides.

  •  Can you put photographs on cakes, cupcakes, and/or cakepops?

Yes we can put an edible image on a cakes, cupcakes, sugar cookies and cakepops. You can provide photographs that can be scanned and then printed, but best results are obtained from a high resolution digital image. If you would like to use an image from a professional photographer, you MUST have permission from them and provide it to us in writing.

  •  We are having a bachelorette/bachelor party. Do you make naughty Cakes/ Cakepops?

We do, as long as we can keep it fairly tasteful. If you decide to post pictures of your cakes/ cakepops to social media, we ask that you not tag us, but rather send us the photos in an email. Many of our followers are young children and we would like to control the images that they see from us.

  •  Can you make a cake for me with my dietary restrictions?

A Pinch Bakery operates as a Georgia Cottage Foods Baker, which means that our baked goods are made in a home kitchen. While the equipment and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, common household foods such as flour and peanut butter are in our home. While we don't use nuts often and take precautions to ensure that there is no direct contact with nuts, it's important for us to note that occasionally the store bought ingredients we purchase may have labels saying "this product has been processed on equipment that has processed nuts."  As far as dietary restrictions due to allergies, unfortunately at this time, we are not comfortable completing such request and we recommend Dulce Vegan as that is their specialty.
