I see you are a home based bakery, are you licensed and do you have insurance?
Yes, A Pinch Bakery operates as a Georgia Cottage Foods Bakery, which means that our baked goods are made in a home kitchen, which has been inspected and licensed by the state of Georgia. We are also fully insured. A copy of our licenses and insurance can be made available upon request.

How much are your cakes?
Since our cakes are custom made for each individual client's needs, the final price varies from cake to cake.
Pricing depends on the size, number of tiers, and complexity of design. The use of fondant, accent pieces, internal support structures, and custom toppers all will affect the price.
We are happy to try to work within your event budget and encourage you to contact us so that we can discuss your cake in greater detail.
-
Do you require a retainer and what forms of payment do you accept?
Yes, we require a retainer to equal 50% of your final cost. While retainers are non refundable, they are transferable. Please see our cancellation policy below.
We accept Cash, Credit/Debit Card, Company Checks, PayPal, Zelle, CashApp, and Apple Pay.

Do you deliver? Do you offer setup as well?
Yes. In fact, many times delivery is recommended for tiered or sculpted cakes to ensure your cake arrives at your venue safely. Delivery is $85 within a 25 mile radius of our location. Each additional mile is $2.
-
Can I pick up the cake myself?
While we highly recommend delivery on any large, 3D cake, or tiered cakes, you absolutely can pick them up. If you or a representative elect to pick up your cake and/or treats, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake/treats once they leave A Pinch's possession which includes any damages that may occur during transportation and set up. I will send you some helpful transportation tips in your confirmation email. Below I've listed some basics.
Any time you pick up a cake, it is always a good idea to have a large flat area in your vehicle dedicated for transporting the cake. Putting cakes on people’s laps, in the trunk, or on the seat of your car is NEVER recommended. The floor of your car is often the best place for transporting a cake. For full sheet or tiered cakes, you should make arrangements to pick up your cake in an SUV or van that has a large flat open trunk. Drive slowly, and keep your car COLD even during winter months. Speeding, going over bumps, fast turns, slamming on the brakes, and keeping it in the car either for storage or while running other errands can cause damage to the icing or the internal support integrity.

How far in advance do I need to order?
At least two weeks notice is preferred, but as much advanced notice as possible, please! With less notice we attempt to work in orders as our schedule/work load permits, but we can not always fit in last minute requests. Orders placed less than 7 days in advance are subject to a $75 rush fee.
You can check our calendar for current availability. Please keep in mind that while we try to update the calendar weekly, availability changes daily. If your date is approaching soon, it's best to contact us for the most up to date information.

How do I schedule a wedding cake tasting and is there a fee?
You can schedule a wedding cake tasting free of charge. I will provide you with a list of available dates and times, and you can choose the one that works best for you. The tasting/consultation will last approximately 45-90 minutes. I will bring a selection of my most popular flavors, but if you have any specific flavor requests, please let me know in advance. You can bring up to 4 people in total. During the consultation, we will discuss design details and I will sketch out a custom wedding cake. Please bring a digital or print copy of your invitation, mood board, any custom logo or monogram you are using, wedding colors, and examples of wedding cake styles you like. The more information I have, the better I can craft a custom design for you.
-
Do you have decorative cake stands and cupcake towers for rent?
No, while we used to offer this service in the past it proved too time consuming and difficult to retrieve rented items. When looking at stands keep in mind that cakes are deceptively heavy. I recommend a solid sturdy cake stand.
-
Do you use fondant, modeling chocolate, and gumpaste; and what are they?
Sometimes. Fondant, modeling chocolate and gumpaste are sweet rolled icings reminiscent of Play-Doh or clay in texture. Fondant and modeling chocolate can be molded into different shapes or figures and used to cover cakes as they are versatile and can be manipulated into various textures and finishes. 98% of our cakes have a buttercream finish and use fondant or modeling chocolate only for detailed decorations. However, some designs (typically things that we want to look more realistic) work better with fondant / modeling chocolate. Cakes covered in fondant/ modeling chocolate do have a coating of delicious buttercream icing underneath it. We use gumpaste, less often, and strictly for decorations, such as sugar flowers and 3D figures. While it is still safe to digest, we wouldn’t recommend eating it, as it will be rather hard and small pieces may be a choking hazard for young children.

My event will be outdoors, cake and treat recommendations?
Outdoor settings are unpredictable. While A Pinch Bakery will do everything in its power to minimize weather damage, cake and sugar will melt in temperatures above 72 degrees, direct sunlight, and in high humidity. Some common damage in outdoor sites: sweating, water condensation, running of colors, sliding decorations, bug attractant, melting buttercream, chocolate or candy coating melting. We recommend getting the table ready but keeping the cake and/or treats inside in a cool area until right before your reception. If that is not an option, please have a sturdy cake table located on firm flat ground, in a shaded area, preferably under a tent or canopy. Please remember even placing a cake under a tent will not keep rain from being blown onto the sides or the heat from affecting it.
-
Can you put photographs on cakes, cupcakes, and/or cakepops?
Yes we can put an edible image on cakes, cupcakes, sugar cookies and cakepops. You can provide photographs that can be scanned and then printed, but best results are obtained from a high resolution digital image. If you would like to use an image from a professional photographer, you MUST have permission from them and provide it to us in writing.
-
We are having a bachelorette/bachelor party. Do you make naughty cakes, cake pops, cookies, and treats?
We do, at our discretion. If you decide to post pictures of your cakes/cake pops to social media, we ask that you not tag us, but rather send us the photos in an email. Some of our followers may be sensitive to that kind of content and we would like to control the images that they see from us.
-
Do you make vegan cakes and can you make a cake for me with my dietary restrictions?
We do make vegan cakes. As far as dietary restrictions due to allergies, unfortunately, at this time, we are not comfortable completing such requests as substitutions can get very tricky. We highly recommend Dulce Vegan as that is their specialty. A Pinch Bakery operates as a Georgia Cottage Foods Baker, which means that our baked goods are made in a home kitchen. While the equipment and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, common household foods such as flour and peanut butter are in our home. While we don't use nuts often and take precautions to ensure that there is no direct contact with nuts, it's important for us to note that occasionally the store bought ingredients we purchase may have labels saying "This product has been processed on equipment that has processed nuts."
